High Rice Prices …The Inflation Factor
More than 95 percent of California's rice is grown in nine counties in the Sacramento Valley: Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Placer, Sutter, Sacramento,
Tehema, Yolo and Yuba counties. Less than five percent is grown in the San Joaquin Valley (Fresno, Kern, Merced, San Joaquin, and Stanislaus counties). Figure 1.1 shows the extent of California's rice growing regions.
